Torah Tech is a unique gap-year program in Israel for young men that integrates intensive Torah study with professional development through business internships in Israel. Our multi-faceted program challenges students to strive for excellence both religiously and professionally, by immersing them in the world of Torah and ruchniyut, as well as the world of highpowered Israeli businesses and tech companies.
This rare combination can only be found in Eretz Yisrael, the eternal homeland of Am Yisrael  and the birthplace of unparalleled innovation and advancement in  business and technology. Students will also connect to the land of Israel through exciting trips and tours, give back to the community through chessed projects and volunteer work, hear from distinguished religious personalities from both the Torah and corporate worlds, and enjoy exclusive access to nearby gyms, men-only beaches, self defense training courses, and much more.
The result? Students who will have developed into passionate, independent, and empowered young adults with the necessary tools to succeed as bnei Torah in the modern world.

The best program designed to train Madrichim to lead their communities

​The Shnat 8-month program is designed for Maccabi educators/ Madrichim/ young leaders, ages 18-19. You will have the opportunity to build and develop leadership skills through the Machon Le Madrichim seminars, joining the IDF Marvah, training and assisting with the Magen David Adom emergency service, living and working on a kibbutz, touring all over Israel, and learning about the Shoah while traveling to Poland for a week to take what you learned firsthand. It’s an excellent opportunity to have a memorable and unforgettable year with friends and Maccabi. The program also offers you to live in the main cities of Israel, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem, and discover the country through organized trips. 

The dates of the program are split into two segments to accommodate various countries:

North – Maccabi Gap Year (September-June): Venezuela, Guatemala, Mexico, United States, Spain, and others. 

South (March-November): Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brasil, Panamá.

The Israel Experience at Bar Ilan University offers high school graduates a variety of courses taught in English that reflect a typical freshman courseload found at North American universities. Students are encouraged to supplement their academic courses with internship and volunteer placements at a variety of major American or Israeli companies. In addition, educational and exciting trips and Shabbatonim are offered every other week. Bar-Ilan University is chartered and accredited by the Ministry of Education in Israel, and the overwhelming majority of colleges and universities in the United States and Canada recognize its courses. In most cases, Israel Experience students will be able to receive credit for their studies.

Known as the greenest city in Israel, Ramat Gan is a hidden oasis outside the rush of Tel Aviv. Among being home to Bar-Ilan University and Tel Hashomer, Israel’s largest hospital, Ramat Gan also hosts a National Park, Safari,the diamond district and the Stock Exchange.

Midreshet Torah V’Avodah offers highly motivated young adults a year experience that is broad, enriching, and intense. Months of Bet Midrash learning are complemented by avodah (service), tiyulim, internships, and more.

On Limmud you'll spend significant time at Yeshiva or Midrasha, Machon LeManhigut and Mechina, and will help you combine more Torah learning with the legendary Bnei Akiva experiences of Israel, including Kibbutz, Marva and Magen David Adom. Limmud is all about learning and giving. It’s a year for yourself, but also a chance to contribute to society around you. For participants from Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa

The Main Elements of Year Course
Year Course contains a number of major components. The following is a brief outline of each of these elements; more details can be found on our website.
 
Studies
On FZY Year Course, chanichim have the opportunity to study a huge variety of subjects and areas. Throughout their studies, participants will grapple with issues which are relevant to young British Jewish Zionists today.
 
Volunteering
FZY Year Course chanichim live and volunteer their time in Bat Yam, a southern suburb of Tel Aviv. They have the opportunity to volunteer in a huge variety of different placements.
 
Israel Experience
The Israel Experience section of Year Course allows participants to choose a part of society they wish to have further knowledge and experience in. Israel is a diverse country with many cultures and peoples, and we believe that we can offer insights into many aspects of Israeli society. Currently the chanichim have the option to take part in Marva, Magen David Adom or volunteer at Yemin Orde youth village.

Special Interest Month
The Special Interest component of the year provides participants with numerous different options in order to tailor part of their Year Course journey.  Options have included a Kibbutz experience, time in Yeshiva, Hiking across different Israeli landscapes, Interning in business and partaking in a Surfing course amongst many others.
 
Optional Add-Ons
FZY year Course has a huge variety of opportunities and options available for chanichim to add on to their year in Israel. In addition to the Regular Year Course Programme, there are options for Jewish Enrichment (Beit Midrash Track), Volunteering in Rwanda (Tikkun Olam), Special Interest (Business, Medicine and others), Travel (Olami) and a week long trip to Poland (Kuma). Extras 
Year Course has so many added extras on the programme that make FZY Year Course the best programme available. These include a number of overnight tiyulim (hikes), a series of seminars throughout Israel at various times of the year joint with other UK youth movements, Israelis on the programme, Israeli Scouts that join and organise activities, UJIA programming and activities in the North of Israel.

Garin Tzabar is a unique program, founded in 1991 and run by Tzofim Tzabar Olami, with the support of the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption, The Prime Minister of Israel's office, The Social Security Department, The Jewish Agency For Israel and Masa Israel Journey. Garin Tzabar members are Jewish Americans and children of Israelis living in the Diaspora who choose to move to Israel and serve in the IDF. Upon their arrival in Israel, the group is adopted by the Israel Scouts and placed in a hosting kibbutz, whichquickly becomes their home away from home throughout the duration of their army service. Garin Tzabar creates a group framework of guidance and support for young Jews and Israelis living abroad who choose to return to Israel or make Aliyah for the first time in order to serve a full and meaningful service in the IDF. This is done by a mental and emotional preparation process that starts in the countries of origin and continues with their arrival to Israel and their absorption into the Kibbutzim, Israeli society and through the processes of military pretrial recruitment. The core of the program is carried out during their military service where they continue to live as a group and receive from the group constant guidance and support.
