Meet twenty-three of best and brightest from Princeton University. They are the first of many to fully immerse themselves in a partnership between Princeton University’s Keller Center for Innovation, Masa Israel Journey, Destination Israel, and the Adelson School of Entrepreneurship at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya (IDC).

This pilot program allowed students to live and breathe the Israeli tech dream for ten weeks. They interned at top tier Israeli Start ups, such as Windward and Nexar, while taking a weekly venture creation course at IDC Herzliya, work collaboratively in small teams on solutions to challenges facing start-ups in today’s global markets. Also included in the program hosted by Destination Israel is the opportunity to live in an apartment in the heart of Tel Aviv, group trips around the country, as well as weekly social, cultural and educational activities.

Gayatri Ramesh, a junior at Princeton, describes her experience in the program as an opportunity to broaden her horizons and achieve a new level of independence. She explains “I’ve never been independent before, I’ve never had to worry about my commute to work, laundry, or food. At Princeton, we live in an orange bubble as we like to call it and I never have to worry that I would make a mistake that would impact me in a serious way. Whereas living in Israel, there are so many things going on 24/7 and I have to always make sure I’m being sensible and responsible.”

I’ll let Katherine Trout, an International Relations Student at Princeton tell you about her experience:

The consensus is that this summer was one that not only added international experience to their resumes, but gave them a glimpse of what the future has in store for them. They learned that adulting is a tough, yet worthy cause and that if you are going to spend your summer by the beach, do it from the 35th floor.
