MPH in Global Health Leadership & Administration
The University of Haifa’s International Master’s Program in Global Health Leadership and Administration is dedicated to providing students with a strong foundation from which to critically examine current global health challenges. The next generation of health care leaders will require a comprehensive understanding of society’s many facets and how they each relate to public health issues. They will also need to have sophisticated leadership skills in order to serve an ever more complex society, and to manage cross-cutting, multi-sectoral, top-down and bottom-up comprehensive programs, within and beyond the health services. In an increasingly integrated world marked by growing disparity, public health leaders will also need to be aware of how global and national forces affect health within and between national borders. The Global Health Leadership and Administration program nurtures the required high levels of sophistication, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a deep knowledge of public and global health in order to prepare future practitioners and researchers for leadership roles in settings across the globe. The one-year program is taught in English over three consecutive semesters, from October through September.
MBA in Sustainability
Sustainable business management is at the forefront of Haifa University Faculty of Management’s one-year Global Green MBA program. Israel is both a leader in water and renewable energy management and a leader in developing innovative and sustainable technologies, making Haifa University an ideal place to experience and tap into the dynamic combination of environmentally-focused, successful business culture. As such, the MBA’s combination of high academic standards in an international learning environment, its focus on essential tools for business management, and the acquiring of theoretical and practical tools for implementing sustainability make it a very valuable and comprehensive business curriculum.
MA in Peace and Conflict Management
The Faculty of Social Sciences is excited to offer a rigorous one-year international graduate program in Peace and Conflict Management. Viewed through both international and regional lenses, the field of conflict management will be explored in its many facets, with special attention paid to the wider Middle East conflict while conceptual, practical and comparative elements of conflict management of other global conflicts are examined. As a deeply divided society and a country in protracted conflict with other countries in the region, Israel is a unique environment for a program whose goal is to enable students to understand how conflicts unfold from the grassroots level and move up through the halls of government to the international community. Israel supplies excellent field study opportunities that allow students to see how attempts to manage conflicts and promote coexistence, mutual understanding, and peace processes actually develop and take root, and is a real-time hands-on working laboratory for advanced international and Israeli students, offering encounters with ongoing conflicts as well as successful and failed efforts to achieve peace.

Our parallel Hebrew-language program draws over two-hundred students annually and we are now happy to be able to offer it to students from around the world.
MA in National Security Studies
Taught in English over one year from September through August, the International Graduate Program in National Security Studies is designed for students and professionals who are seriously interested in the field of national security in the broadest sense of the term. Students will examine the complex interrelationship between the social, political, ethical, diplomatic, economic and military dimensions of national security to create a comprehensive picture of the state of the nation. Facing a long-standing challenge at the center of a mostly hostile regional environment, even decades before its establishment, Israel has accumulated the experience in dealing with national security issues and has developed a comprehensive approach in this field, combining academic theory with real-world constraints.
MSc in Statistics
With a dramatic increase in the size and complexity of data collected by both Industry and the Academic community, the ability to analyze and draw meaningful conclusions from these data sets is becoming ever more important. The Department of Statistics at the University of Haifa offers an international master level program in Statistics in order to train its students as professionals in this domain.
MSc. in Marine Biology
For years, the sea has been a source of food and transport of commerce, but also a source of mystery about the processes that take place in it. The vast majority of the seas have not been studied – from the coastline to the abyssal depths, from the molecular mechanisms of life within the cell to the myriad, complex and dynamic marine ecosystems.
MSc. in Marine Geosciences
With the eastern Mediterranean as our natural marine laboratory, the International M.Sc. Program in Marine Geosciences provides students with a unique opportunity to develop practical scientific experience at sea alongside a rigorous academic curriculum. Established in 2007 as part of the multidisciplinary Leon H. Charney School of Marine Sciences, the Department of Marine Geosciences combines research and graduate studies of the marine environment in the following main disciplines: exploration geophysics, seafloor mapping, remote sensing, geodynamics, tectonics, marine and coastal sedimentology, geochemistry, chemical and physical oceanography.
MA in Archaeology
Both a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a biosphere reserve, the Mount Carmel area reveals a nearly 500,000 year-long sequence of human evolution exposed in caves, rock shelters and open-air sites along mountain valleys and the nearby coastal plain. Unlike any other region in the world, Mount Carmel’s key sites, such as the Tabun and Skhul caves, preserve evidence of both modern human and Neanderthal populations, at sites less than 100 meters from each other. As such, situated atop the Carmel Mountain, Haifa University provides students with an ideal setting for the study of Prehistoric Archaeology and an invaluable opportunity to take part in field research all over Israel’s historic landscape.
MA in Maritime Civilizations
The International MA Program in Maritime Civilizations offers students an exceptional opportunity to explore the history, archaeology, and fabric of maritime societies, as well as the natural environment in which they developed and the anthropogenic environments in which they currently exist. Students enrolled in the program examine a variety of fields pertaining to maritime civilizations and the marine environment, including coastal and underwater archaeology, marine biology and ecology, maritime history, maritime geology, and geomorphology. The interdisciplinary curriculum offers advanced knowledge and research training to students interested in exploring human interactions with the sea in a dynamic learning environment.
MA in Holocaust Studies – The Weiss-Livnat International Master’s Program
The unique, multidisciplinary MA Program in Holocaust Studies is dedicated to creating and nurturing a new generation of Holocaust researchers and educators. In addition to a rigorous and varied curriculum with leading academics and researchers, our students gain professional experience through internship opportunities at a variety of Holocaust related institutions, seminars, a foreign study tour, and volunteering opportunities with Holocaust survivors to help foster personal relationship and dedication to the field of Holocaust Studies.
MA in Israel Studies
The International Master’s Degree Program in Israel studies offers students the opportunity to partake in an in-depth study of the State of Israel covering periods of the beginning of the Zionist movement to the present day. The course aims to elucidate the theoretical underpinnings of the Zionist project, communities of the Jewish diaspora and their relationship to the modern state of Israel, and the deep complexities of Israeli society in light of its multicultural character. Recent years have witnessed an unprecedented growth of scholarly interest in Israeli history, politics, society and culture. Numerous programs, research centers and chair endowments in Israel Studies have been established in North America and Europe, adding a new, fresh and innovative dimension to existing programs in Judaic Studies. The Israel Studies program is designed for students who wish to deepen their understanding of the experiences of the Israeli population from a range of perspectives, against the wider backdrop of twentieth-century Jewish history, Middle Eastern politics and society.
MA in Diplomacy Studies
The dynamics of the contemporary international environment, complex and interconnected as it is, presents an array of challenges for policy analysts, decision makers and scholars alike. This situation is especially relevant to the Middle East and Mediterranean regions as areas fraught with chronic tension, domestic and international conflict, and which face several acute social and economic issues. Against this backdrop, the new graduate program in Diplomacy Studies is intended to elucidate the role of diplomacy as a main vehicle and mechanism for systematically addressing the broad cluster of issues that affect the entire region, and which can no longer be effectively dealt with exclusively from a narrow unilateral or bilateral vantage point.
