An explanation of the Tel Aviv+ Beit Shean Track model

The Tel Aviv+ program consists of half a year living and teaching in Beit Shean and the other half in Tel Aviv. It’s a fantastic opportunity to experience even more of what Israel has to offer by living and teaching in two very different cities.

This dual-city track is an opportunity to experience unique and different Israeli lifestyles, Israel’s periphery vs. central Israel, while making an impact in the country’s society. The order of placement between Tel Aviv and Beit Shean is subject to the organizer’s decision only.  Please not that this dual-city track only runs for the 10-month program.

Where You'll Live and Work

Today the population is around 20,000 and most are descendants of Jews from Morocco, Tunisia, Syria, and Iraq. The town has a small industrial area and it’s main economy is from retail trade. Many of residents are employed in the surrounding kibbutzim. Recently, Beit Shean has started to develop significantly. The railway runs from Beit Shean to Haifa and the transport connection is a huge lever to help the region’s demographic growth programs.

Beit Shean has great potential to increase trade and employment options for residents and to attract new families. Along with the investments in developments of the neighbourhoods, the municipality invests a lot in environmental issues, cultivating the city’s image, developing gardens and parks.

Beit Shean is a beautiful blend of ancient and modern Israel, featuring historical landmarks, streets are fragrant with captivating people and sounds of conversations held in multiple languages. The city today is involved is many projects, bringing the spirit of innovation and change. The quality of life in the city is thriving, partly thanks to the warm and family atmosphere the city offers. Beit Shean is known for its generous hospitality and your impact here will make a difference.
