About The Program

Our Mission 1. Unite Jews and Israelis from around the world 2. Volunteer in the local community 3. Explore the land of Israel 4. Gain leadership skills 5. Preparation for next step :

1. Increase physical endurance and train for military service for those who choose to join

2. Prepare for the challenges awaiting back home, in the Jewish community and/or in the university environment

We believe in learning for the sake of learning which makes classes lively, positive, and involved. Topics studied include Jewish texts and history, Zionism, leadership, philosophy, and Israel advocacy. Students will become leaders with vision and purpose, possessing the resolve and ability to affect real change both within themselves and society at large. Our participants develop leadership abilities and the desire to lead and serve as a personal example. Our participants get to know Israel both geographically and socially. They challenge their perceptions of the country through exposure to all sectors of the Israeli population. As part of the immersion into Israeli society and to contribute to it and to gain skills and experiences when returning to their home communities, participants dedicate time to volunteer within the communities surrounding the different mechina campuses.

About Jerusalem

The city where past and present meet. Established over 3,000 years ago, the city of Jerusalem offers you the chance to literally reach out and touch the past. Known as the city of gold, Jerusalem is a magical mix of ancient and modern, where outdoor shuks (markets) rub shoulders with gleaming office towers. The city's most popular spots include a vibrant downtown with world-class restaurants and shopping, and the Old City, a maze of winding alleyways and colorful markets enclosed by walls dating back to the 16th century.

Location

Safety and security

This interactive video summarizes and addresses Masa’s main safety and security topics; you can choose the order in which you want to watch.
