Top Romantic Spots to Spend Valentine’s Day in Israel

Where to Spend Valentine’s Day in Jerusalem

Yemin Moshe is a beautiful and charming neighborhood with magnificent views of the Old City, perfect for a quiet romantic walk and discovering a beautiful part of Jerusalem that you might not know!

Right next to Yemin Moshe, across the historic and luxurious King David Hotel, you can climb up the YMCA Bell Tower to enjoy a 360-degree view of the city. If you are lucky, you can even spot the Dead Sea mountains. The views are very magical towards sunset, so plan your visit accordingly!

On King David Street, you will find Zuta, a small cocktail bar with local cocktails and great finger food. This bar is the perfect way to end your excursion in the area.

If you’d like more views of the Old City, and prefer wine and cheese over cocktails, then you must head over to the Notre Dame Rooftop Cheese & Wine Bar, located in front of the New Gate. It’s a doable walk! We can’t decide which is better though… the wines or the views…. we’ll let you decide!

If you are looking for more green views, we recommend you check out the Botanical Gardens in Jerusalem, which has more than six thousand plant species from all over the world. This place offers an oasis of quiet if you want to enjoy a romantic and healthy walk with your partner.

Where to Spend Valentine’s Day in Tel Aviv

There is nothing like taking a stroll around Tel Aviv, especially when the weather is comfortable and sunny. There are so many nice streets and areas to explore with that special someone. For example, the area of Nachalat Binyamin is a perfect choice for a date night. You can go to Beit Haamudim for a jazz concert and make your way to Arte ice cream shop for Italian-inspired gelato. By topping off the night, if you haven’t already seen it, make your way to the old City Hall on Bialik Square to sit by the fountain and get lost in each other’s eyes… or not!

Or if you just want to go to a bar, get a good drink and tasty, fresh food, go to A La Bar on Dizengoff. The service is always good, and the ambiance is nice, with the perfect amount of lighting.

Or grab a coffee from Origem on Dizengoff or a nice bottle of wine from one of the wine shops around the corner, and a sandwich from Ligori and make your way to Independence Park/Spiegel Park, or as everyone calls it, Hilton Park, in front of the Hilton Hotel. There you can comfortably nestle into the grass, watch the waves rolling in from above, and maybe even wait until the sun goes down.

Where to Spend Valentine’s Day Throughout Israel

If you’re looking to get out of the city and are looking for some greenery, make your way to Tishby Winery. They have a great restaurant that either serves up different kinds of cheese and salads, or you can enjoy the meat food trucks that serve delicious brisket and asado sandwiches with super good french fries.

Or make your way down to Mitzpe Ramon for the beautiful (romantic) scenery and go on a hike. Then unwind at Cafe Gina with a delicious meal, coffee, and dessert before you explore the Spice Quarter and buy yourself some art.

Last But Not Least – A Special Valentine’s Day Recipe 🍪

If you’re looking to treat yourself or the people you love to something sweet – here is an excellent, moist super chocolatey cookie recipe you can make for Valentine’s Day. Enjoy and have a cookie for us too 😉.

valentines day cookie recipe

  • 9 ounces bittersweet chocolate, preferably Valrhona, finely chopped, plus 6 ounces cut into ¼ to ½-inch chunks
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon brewed espresso
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 7 tablespoons sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 7 tablespoons sifted cake flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups coarsely chopped pecans/almonds

Preparation:

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. In the top of a double boiler set over simmering water, combine the finely chopped bittersweet chocolate, butter and espresso. Stir occasionally until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.

Step 2

Meanwhile, in the bowl of an electric mixer, combine eggs and sugar and whip until the mixture is light in color and increases substantially in volume, about 10 minutes. Beat in the vanilla extract. Stir in the melted chocolate. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder and fold them into the chocolate mixture until just combined. Fold in the pecans and chocolate chunks.

Step 3

Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper. Drop the batter by heaping tablespoons onto the paper, leaving about 2 inches between each. Bake until the cookies are slightly puffed and cracked on the outside but gooey inside, about 10 to 14 minutes. Cool on the cookie sheets.

Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️
