The NCSY Kollel program is an educational summer framework in Israel, operating as an immersive learning campus that combines meaningful Torah study with a broad, dynamic, and multi-dimensional Israeli experience.
The program places special emphasis on connecting Torah of the Land of Israel, Jewish identity, and a deep sense of connection to the Jewish people, integrating serious academic learning with rich educational and social experiences.
The learning component spans a wide range of disciplines, including Tanakh, Talmud, Halacha, and Jewish thought. It takes place in an informal summer environment—less frontal and more interactive, open, and discussion-based—encouraging questions, dialogue, and personal engagement. This approach allows for differentiation across varying levels of prior knowledge and invites participants from diverse backgrounds to deepen their understanding, connect, and grow at their own pace.
The program’s uniqueness lies in its integration of learning with a holistic educational experience. Alongside structured study sessions, participants engage in competitive sports, diverse campus activities, and educational tours (tiyulim) throughout the country—from major historical and national sites to nature trails, water hikes, and desert experiences. These excursions foster a direct and meaningful connection to the State of Israel, its landscapes, heritage, and people.
The program staff is composed of rabbis, educators, and counselors who support participants not only academically but also on a personal and social level, building meaningful and lasting educational relationships. These connections, together with the shared life within a supportive educational community, contribute to the development of a committed Jewish identity and strengthen participants’ ongoing connection to Israel and the Jewish people long after the summer concludes.
