Company Description

Helpers is a non-profit NGO whose purpose is to help people at risk and humanitarian emotional needs. This is achieved through a network of trained volunteers and with its advanced technology system, based on geolocation, it allows to connect in real time between people who need help with people who can help. The problem Based on the fact that the first minutes in risky cases are decisive to significantly increase the chances of survival, this project is born. For example, in Uruguay approximately 16,000 people die and in Argentina 100,000 people who could have survived if they had received basic first aid in the first few minutes. Tens of thousands of GBV events could be resolved if the situation could be intervened in the first few minutes. The solution The NGO Helpers offers a technological solution that coordinates aid between the person who needs help and those closest to him. Just by tapping the help button in the app, the closest volunteers are called to assist the professionals. In addition, Helpers has thousands of geographically distributed trained first aid volunteers. The technological solution includes a mobile application for users of the service that allows the alarm to be launched and automatically connects the closest Helpers, and in turn calls operators in real time to coordinate aid in the fastest and most efficient way. Experience: Helpers 2017-2020 Helpers has been operating in Uruguay since 06.2017, training 8,000 first aid volunteers mainly in the departments of Montevideo and Maldonado. The trainings were carried out almost in the entire territory of Montevideo, in companies, organizations, lyceums, clubs and private groups. On 06.2019 the first Helpers franchise in Argentina was opened. With more than 1000 volunteers in 8 months. Helpers' work goes hand in hand with the Good Samaritan law, known in Uruguay as Law 18,360, which promotes first aid training in Uruguay and the use of the DEA (Defibrillator), and in Argentina, Law 27,159. In the last 3 years, more than 6,300 calls of different needs were answered and more than 200 lives were saved. Helpers at Coronavirus At the time of Coronavirus, the decision was made to make the technology available to any organization that wants to form a community of aid of all kinds. The service provided has proven to be effective and essential when a life-threatening event occurs. The rapid response that a trained and connected community can provide significantly reduces the negative consequences of unforeseen health. Helpers Values Saving Lives is the purpose of the NGO Helpers, and at its core it is based on the following values: The value of life: By saving lives, the incomparable value of life is expressed socially, especially when people help save lives of strangers, of their own free will and by understanding the value of life. Feeling of security: The Helpers network generates in people a permanent sense of security, knowing that each user is surrounded by volunteers who are available to help if necessary. This objective has been achieved in some cases of insecurity on the street, where users used the network of volunteers to feel accompanied. Sensitivity and Social Solidarity: Helpers spreads in its training and in its operation the message of sensitivity for each life and solidarity among all people. Social interrelation: It generates interaction between the different age, social
