What is Masa?
Masa Israel Journey is a nonprofit organization comprised of the Jewish Agency for Israel and the government of Israel. We have a global staff with representatives around the world and headquarters in Jerusalem and New York City.
We show up in two fundamental and important ways:
- We provide grants and scholarships to help participants on our programs afford their experiences in Israel
- We provide incredible life-changing programming and events on the ground for anyone who is a grant recipient or Masa Community Member
We will help you find the program that is best suited for your goals and interests. Once you have been accepted into the program, you come to Masa Israel for programming, funding, and logistics.
Under our organizational umbrella, we work with several different types of program organizers. Each organization is required to provide Hebrew classes, educational trips and content, transportation around Israel, housing options, medical insurance, and more. Each year the organizations we work with are approved by our team for their experience and excellence. We know you will find the best program for your life and goals.
How the Process Works
1. Find your perfect Masa Program
Either by browsing our website using our advanced search feature or by speaking to one of our global Masa Representatives, find the program that is perfectly suited for your needs. Masa Israel works with hundreds of organizations and companies that are part of our network. Our website lists all the organizations we work with and we are constantly updating our database with more programmatic options based on the needs of the market.
2. Connect to the Program directly
Either by speaking to one of our global representatives or by browsing our website and fill out an interest form on the programs page, once you find the program that is best suited for your goals and needs, you will be connected to the program. When you schedule a call with a Masa Representative, you will share your goals and needs, and our reps will do our best to connect you to the perfect option. They will send a connecting email between you and the program of your choice. A program advisor from the program of your choice will reach out to you directly via email or phone to give you more information or to help you apply. If you fill out an interest form on our website after browsing our programs, a program advisor will reach out to you within a few days via email to give you more information or to help you apply.
3. Get accepted to the program
Once you have applied, you need to be officially accepted into the program. You may speak to multiple programs but ultimately, the program that you feel most strongly about is the one you should apply to. Once you have been given an official acceptance into the program, you are one step closer to getting to Israel!
4. Apply for a Masa Israel Grant & to be part of our Masa Community
As soon as you have been officially accepted into the program of your choosing, you can then come to Masa to apply for your grant. Your Masa grant will be applied towards the cost of your program. Once you have applied for your funding and have been given approval by our scholarship department, the funding will be transferred directly to the program of your choosing on your behalf. On our funding application, you will select which program you are attending and which session.
5. Once you are in Israel
Once you get to Israel, you will be given many opportunities to connect with Masa Israel. You will be able to attend our events, attend our leadership summits and trainings, be given access to exclusive delegations, and connect with other Masa Israel participants.
