About The Program

Aardvark Israel's unique culinary program immerses students in a hands-on cooking course, offered in collaboration with Teamim Culinary College, where they will gain the skills needed to kickstart a career in the culinary world. Participants will start with the basics and learn to become chefs with experience in every area of the culinary field, from restaurant preparation, to pastry chef, to private chef. Classes will take place in a state-of-the-art kitchen in Jerusalem and include field trips to the local Machaneh Yehuda market and professional, working kitchens. Participants in the Aardvark Israel Culinary Track will become part of the thriving gastronomic scene in Israel. Following completion of the course, students will intern alongside Israelis at a variety of restaurants and hotels in Tel Aviv during their second semester.

In addition to developing a foundation in culinary arts, students will also enjoy an immersive, educational experience in Israel together with their fellow "foodies" as well as with the larger, diverse community of students participating in other Aardvark Israel programs. With field trips throughout the country and a wide variety of extracurricular activities, participants will explore all that Israel has to offer. The students live in local apartments with other students from all around the world enabling them to live independently in a structured, supportive environment where they will have the opportunity to develop lasting friendships with peers from around the world.
