Tevel is a Jewish and Israeli movement that aims to address the complex challenges of global poverty to make the world a more just and beautiful home for humanity. We are passionate in our conviction that together we can change the world for the better. We are committed to the development of a new generation of Jews and Israelis dedicated to eliminating poverty and environmental devastation. We believe in “arvut”– solidarity and mutual responsibility linking all peoples, religions and nations together for the sake of the common good. At the same time, we understand that our particular ethnic, national and religious identities –for us, Judaism and Jewish history — can be a wellspring of inspiration and wisdom in creating a vision for rebuilding the world for the benefit of all human beings and all of life. Through Jewish learning and hands-on volunteerism in the Global South, Tevel creates a bridge between Israel, Judaism, and the challenge of global poverty and environmental devastation. Tevel develops next-generation leaders with direct experience in the field.
