LightYX’s innovative products connect the professional workers in the office to the traders in the field. The architects and the contractors provide plans, that are uploaded to LightYX’s cloud in various 2D formats, like: PDF, DWG and SVG and 3D formats, like: RVT and IFC.
These files contain vector information and other metadata, that most of the time is not suitable for proper laser projection.
To address this problem, the internship candidate should be able to extract information from different types of files, analyze the data, transform its geometries and optimize them for projection.
You will be required to break a large task into subtasks, prioritize them and deliver a solution that handles all of its edge-cases effectively. If necessary, you will be required to research and choose an appropriate open-source solution that fits your needs.

LightYX’s Android application allows field workers without any prior knowledge to execute complicated tasks that are usually performed by professional surveyors.
It does so by consuming plans and other vector-based data from the cloud and allows the worker to project the relevant data from these plans to the field in millimeter accuracy.
The application mediates between the user and the projector by showing a fully-featured 2D map (like Google Maps) that is interacted via gestures that are sent to the projector via Bluetooth.
The map is planned to be replaced by a 3D version that will support 3D up-to-date file formats that are the being adopted rapidly in the construction industry.
You will take part in building the innovative user interface, present its data via 2D/3D map infrastructure and integrate the application with LightYX’s AWS-based cloud service.
