Job Description

Our research interns apply and expand the skills acquired during their studies in SIGNAL’s dynamic
working environment, contributing to our applied policy-oriented research on China.
The Research intern will report to SIGNAL’s Research and Strategy Director. Responsibilities include:
● Conduct background research for applied research projects
● Assist in Gathering and analyzing data from multiple primary and secondary sources
● Assist with drafting reports, proposals, and position papers
● Compile weekly briefs on issues related to Israel-China and China in the Middle East
● Conduct interviews with subject matter experts
● Attend SIGNAL events

Qualifications

Required skills for the Research intern
● Studies in Political Science, International Relations, Diplomacy, Sociology, Economics, Policy,
Communications or Area Studies with a relevant focus on either the Middle East, Asia, and/or
China
● Some knowledge of the political and economic system of the People’s Republic of China is
desirable.
● Very good command of written and spoken English or Hebrew with the ability to read fluently
and summarize source content concerning a wide range of topics
● Working knowledge of Chinese, Arabic, or Persian is a bonus
● Familiarity with data analysis and visualization – bonus
● Curiosity, Diligence, and a high degree of reliability
● Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
