Known as the city of gold, Jerusalem is a magical mix of ancient and modern, where outdoor shuks (markets) rub shoulders with gleaming office towers. The city's most popular spots include a vibrant downtown with world-class restaurants and shopping, and the Old City, a maze of winding alleyways and colorful markets enclosed by walls dating back to the 16th century.

Le programme Basis est un programme de l'Université hébraïque qui permet aux étudiants d'être admis à l'université sans examen psychométrique (sur la base de leur bac et de leur moyenne de l'année structurante=la première année, 85 de moyenne sont requis en fin d'année structurante).
Ce programme représente une opportunité pour tous les étudiants puisque, comme chacun sait, les psychométriques représentent non seulement une gageure mais également le principal écueil  sur le chemin qui mène à l'université en Israël.
L'enseignement est aussi intensif que celui de la mehina. En plus du programme obligatoire (hébreu, anglais,) et  maths, et/ou bio et/ ou physique pour une filière scientifique, les étudiants suivent des cours qui sont en rapport avec le cursus qu'ils ont choisi (exemple un étudiant qui aura choisi le cursus eco gestion aura des cours d'eco  et/ou, de gestion,  et/ou de statistiques etc, celui qui aura choisi sciences politiques suivra des cours d'introduction aux relations internationales etc(..
Le choix du département par l'étudiant se fait en fonction de sa moyenne au bac.
Comme pour la mehina, les étudiants qui sont complètement débutants en hébreu doivent suivre les cours d'oulpan qui débute au mois d'aout et qui comporte 200 heures d'enseignement. Le logement peut se faire soir sur le campus, soit à l'extérieur en fonction du souhait de l'étudiant.

Les programmes sont destinés aux étudiants déjà diplômés.Tous les cours donnés sont en anglais. L'Institut International Rothberg offre six programmes de Master dans les domaines suivants: la Bible et le Monde Biblique, Civilisation Juive, Etudes Religieuses, Etudes de l'Islam et du Moyen-Orient, Société et Politique en  Israël, Gérance Communautaire et Philanthropie.Israël et Jérusalem offrent un cadre naturel aux études consacrées à ces filières particulières.Programme (hors Master)  destiné aux étudiants licenciésDes cours sont proposes dans les matières suivantes : études bibliques, archéologie, judaïsme, théologie, étude du Moyen Orient, société et politique israélienne, gestion des sociétés et associations à but non lucratif. Des cours de langue en hébreu moderne, en hébreu biblique, en akkadien, en arabe littéraire, en arabe vernaculaire, et en grec sont également proposés aux étudiants, qui peuvent en outre s’inscrire à des cours de l’université hébraïque..Les étudiants qui s’inscrivent à un programme non diplômant recevront un certificat détaillant tous les cours qu’ils auront suivis, pour faire valoir les crédits correspondants dans leur université d’origine.Les étudiants qui décideront de poursuivre leurs études au sein de l’université hébraïque pourront mettre la première année à profit pour s’immerger dans l’étude de l’hébreu.

Offered in conjunction with the Department of Bible and the Institute of Archaeology and the Ancient Near East  This two-year Master's program in Israel is designed for students who wish to study contemporary Biblical (Hebrew scriptures) studies, providing grounding in Biblical as well as Modern Hebrew. Students specialize in one of two tracks:  1. The Bible: Cultural and Historical Context. In this specialization, students study the historical, cultural, and geographical context in which the Bible was composed, as well as its impact on later cultural and historical contexts and events.  2. The Bible and the Ancient Near East. In addition to studying the Bible in its immediate regional context, students acquire a sound knowledge of the history and culture of the Ancient Near East, including the study of Akkadian. (Students may also choose to study other ancient languages, such as Egyptian, Ugartic, or Greek.)  The M.A. program consists of 42 credits over four consecutive semesters, including required courses in Biblical Hebrew, Akkadian, History and Culture of the Ancient Near East, and Introduction to Biblical Literature, as well as elective courses and tutorials. Group tutorials are offered in Biblical Aramaic and Targum Onqalos.
