About Migdal Haemeq

Migdal Ha’emek received its name based on its geographic location – “the tower of the valley”. The city’s views from the top show a spectacular view of the Carmel mountains, the Jezreel Valley, and the Lower Galilee. With a population of less than 30,000 people, 30 percent of residents are new immigrants from Russia, the Caucasus, Ethiopia, Morocco, Iraq, and South America. An hour away from Tel Aviv, Migdal Ha’emek offers a peaceful oasis filled with ancient remains from the Early Bronze Age, including the St. Nicholas and St. Gabriel churches, the late Roman period’s rock-cut tombs and burial caves, and bronze-age wine presses.
