MAYA gallery is an art-based social enterprise in Israel, an innovative vision realized by its co-founder artists, Michael Kovner and Avner Levinson to grant a proper and independent platform for emerging artists. ​ We pursue this vision by choosing the presenting artists based on artistic excellence, looking for the vibrant and intriguing voices in their works. Our exhibitions and cultural activities aim at creating meaningful social value by presenting and providing space for artists from the geographical and social periphery of Israel. ​ Our work is committed to enhancing and strengthening artists' independent and authentic voice as well as principles of artistic freedom, multi-generational dialogue, and the preservation of original Israeli artistic heritage. In addition, MAYA Gallery will serve as a focal point for various artistic and cultural activities which align with our vision and goals to foster dialogue and enable further exposure. ​ The gallery is a nonprofit organization funded by donations and sales revenues in addition to volunteer activity of directors and founders.
