Keepod is a $7 PC to connect the 5 billion people, 70% of the world’s population to personal computing and the internet who don’t have access yet. We are a social impact business, focusing on the empowerment of low income communities all over the world, enabling them to gain access to personal computing and most recent technologies. Vision: Keepod envisions a world where all people can access information according to their needs and dreams, providing tools that will enable them to independently create better futures for themselves and their community. Mission: Make Keepod accessible for as many people as possible, providing them with the tools needed to elevate the technology, constantly question existing paradigms and cooperate with likeminded people and organizations to transform their vision into reality. Tech: Keepod's OS runs from any USB drive, eliminating our dependence on a single computer. By having the OS on a USB, the software is effectively separated from the hardware, reducing the computer to nothing more than a vehicle. Working environment: The Keepod team currently consists of 7 core team members, as well as additional project based volunteers, interns and others. What unites the team is the deep conviction in the vision and in the way Keepod is seeking to fulfil this vision. Empowering disadvantaged communities using technology and business tools is the intrinsic drive of all team members, making it a very strong and passionate team.
