Our laboratory is situated at the Rabin Medical Center and is affiliated with the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. Our research is centered on translational studies in Gastroenterology, with a particular focus on Mucosal Immunology. We collaborate closely with the Division of Gastroenterology at the Rabin Medical Center to address clinically relevant questions. Our primary interest is investigating the immune responses in the intestinal mucosa, specifically the inflammatory pathways that occur in patients with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. We seek to increase our understanding of the mechanisms behind the intestinal response to commensal flora, nutritional choices, and biological therapies. Our laboratory explores the genetic, molecular, microbial, serologic, immune, nutritional, and environmental factors that contribute to intestinal inflammation. To accomplish our objectives, we utilize our extensive biomaterial repository collected through a longitudinal and multidisciplinary approach. Our ultimate goal is to generate clinically relevant knowledge about inflammatory pathways and identify ways to modify or manipulate them for the prevention, treatment, and potential cure of IBD.
