The Yahel Social Change Fellowship combines hands-on volunteer work with in-depth learning and immersion in local Israeli neighborhoods.
Fellows live, learn, and volunteer in either Lod or Rishon LeZion, working side-by-side with local grassroots organizations to join ongoing initiatives or create new projects in the fields of empowerment, community development, and education.
As a fellow, you’ll have the opportunity to work in local schools, youth centers, nonprofit organizations and community gardens.
Fellows explore important social justice issues, including minorities in Israel, grassroots activism, relations between secular and religious populations, obstacles for refugee and asylum seekers, and more.
The Fellowship prioritizes contextual learning and an authentic dive into issues in modern day Israel.
Yahel Fellows meet with municipal leaders, activists, experts in community organizing, and more.
Day trips and seminars offer an opportunity to explore Israel off the beaten track and witness social change initiatives in diverse contexts.
