Arava Institute Internship Program
Do you believe that nature knows no borders? Do you have a passion for sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, water management, or desert ecology? The Arava Institute’s internship program is home to five transboundary research and development centers, each addressing areas of environmental concern. In collaboration with young Israelis, Palestinians, Jordanians, and other international researchers, participants will explore topics like water management, energy conservation, sustainable agriculture, water management, ecology, and environmental diplomacy.
Join the Arava Institute’s researchers for one or two semesters working under the mentorship of a faculty member. The internship fosters rich learning experiences in environmental research and development, environmental policy, and project management. Interns will leave the program with solid professional contacts and will be well-positioned to build community-based partnerships.
Interns are part of the general campus community, and participate in a rich program which includes community building activities and social events, as well as regional trips, desert hikes, gardening, camping, horseback riding, and more. Kibbutz Ketura is located near Eilat and approximately 4 hours from the center of country, which is easily accessible by public transportation.
