WUJS helps Houstonian find work experience, connections to Israel

Janeiro 19, 2012

A program for post-college graduates in Israel is providing a Houston native with valuable work experience, travel opportunities and the chance to connect with her Jewishness and Israeli society.
Arielle Lothman, 21, currently lives in Tel Aviv and works as a human resources intern at Yukon Software Services. The recent graduate of Texas State University received the volunteer job as a key component of her participation in Young Judaea’s WUJS program.

“I’ve really enjoyed going to work every morning,” said Lothman, who is four months into her half-year stay in Israel. “The people I work with are great. It’s a young company and staffed with people from all over the world.”

Lothman said that the job has given her a much-desired entry point for a career in HR. The work has been meaningful. She has created and posted online job descriptions, aimed at attracting native Israelis, as well as new immigrants to Israel. She has helped filter resumes and has overseen the company’s social media profiles.
