Way More Israel is a unique 5-month program where you will have an authentic Israel experience as you develop your own unique skills and interests. You’ll spend the first month living in Jerusalem’s Old City, improving your Hebrew skills and getting to know places and people around you. You’ll discover the meaning and significance of heritage and history through tours, workshops, hands-on learning, group volunteer projects and cultural activities. For the second month, you’ll travel to a kibbutz where you will continue to learn Hebrew, and have a chance to really contribute to communal life. You’ll pick up some organic farming techniques and/or work in a kibbutz factory. You’ll then return to Jerusalem for the last three months where you’ll be working or volunteering in your chosen field. Jerusalem has some of the best opportunities to gain valuable experience working in companies (over 600 to choose from) or making a real difference at the many non-profit organizations.
The Yahel Social Change Program combines hands-on volunteer work with in-depth learning and immersion in a local Israeli neighborhood. Two locations are now available; Work with the Arab-Israeli community in Lod, or the Ethiopian-Israeli community in Ramat Eliyahu, Rishon LeZion. Yahel partners with local grassroots organizations working in the fields of empowerment, community development and education.
Israel's youth village system is a culturally distinct approach to providing healthy learning environments for Israeli youth at risk and new immigrants between the ages of 12-18.
Israeli teens might choose to live and study in these agricultural communities for a variety of reasons: their family might be impoverished and unable to adequately care for them, they might have immigrated to Israel alone, they might have had a difficult time with social integration at their former schools, or they might simply be interested in the community values that the youth village embodies. Whatever the reason, the network of educators, mentors, and adoptive families in the village provides an environment for these teens to grow into thriving and compassionate adults.
Spend five months living and volunteering alongside Israeli peers while making a meaningful impact on Israeli society.
