The Overseas Beit Midrash at the Schechter Rabbinical Seminary, affiliated with the Conservative/Masorti movement, is a full-time academic program combining Jewish and Israeli experiences based on a pluralistic and egalitarian approach. It is open to rabbinical students from all streams of Judaism, as well as college graduates interested in a high-level Judaic studies program. The Beit Midrash offers guidance for students embarking on a spiritual quest to explore the texts of Bible, Talmud, Halacha and Midrash.
You will learn in small classes alongside students from Israel and around the world, creating an atmosphere which is both Israeli and international. The program requires a high Hebrew level since all classes are conducted in Hebrew. You may also take advantage of M.A. courses on a wide variety of topics in Jewish studies at the Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies. The Schechter Institute is an accredited institution of higher learning and credits may be transferred to other schools.
