Like the programs they attend, MASA participants represent the broad specturm of the global Jewish experience, rich in diversity and interest.

This year, we have been featuring the profiles of some of these participants on our website, some of whom are featured below.  They have come to Israel to study, to learn to volunteer and above all, to explore what it means to be part of a worldwide movement.

Rachel Present
As an Otzma participant, Rachel was working with Druze, Arab-Israeli, Palestinian, Christian and Jewish children in the pediatric oncology ward at Haifa's Rambam hospital. 
She is just one of the many MASA participants making a difference in Israel this year.

Joel Kress
Joel taught English in a high school in Tiberias as part of his Go Galilee volunteer work.  In the afternoons he helped to paint and fix community shelters and worked with Ethiopian immigrants. 
Sara Fried 
Sara interned at The Jerusalem Report, the highly-acclaimed news magazine covering Israel and the Middle-east.
Joshua Corber
Joshua, who is a Reiki master and rabbinical student,  studied at Pardes Institute in Jerusalem.  " Pardes is a place where I am discovering where I fit in the Jewish world"

Charlotte van der Mark
Although Jewish, Charlotte "had no Jewish upbringing whatsoever." After graduating from college, she decided that there was no better place to discover her Jewish heritage than in Israel

Gabriel Seed
"I feel that I have become more independent and prepared for life on a college campus next year through my studies, work, and all of the other experiences I have had this year."

 

Ayala Ragetli
"Israel has definitely affected who I am today, it has made me a more independent person. It has also helped me mature."
