In a special MAP (MASA Activities for Participants) celebration, 500 MASA participants went out into the forests outside Jerusalem to plant trees on February 4 in honor of Tu Bishvat.
For most of the participants, it was their first time celebrating the holiday in Israel.
The participants, who represent the specturm of MASA-affiliated programs, came together to plant trees in the new MASA section of the Nahshon Forest. After a morning of planting, they travelled to Jerusalem for an afternoon at the Knesset, followed by encounters with Israelis, who shared their personal stories, and a taste of Israeli culture and music (and, of course, food) at Kibbutz Ramat Rachel.
