Students come from North America, England, France, South Africa, Switzerland, Australia and other countries.

Many return to the Yeshiva after university for further study, preparing to become community leaders, rabbis and Jewish educators through the Yeshiva's Kollel and its affiliated Herzog College.

Bnei Akiva - Shalhevet

Program Description

Bnei Akiva inspires and empowers young Jews with a sense of commitment to the Jewish people, the Land of Israel and the Torah.

For more than 80 years, Hachshara, a year trip to Israel, has played a part in shaping and training the future leaders of Bnei Akiva and Jewish communities around the world.

Hachshara is a vital component in your Bnei Akiva journey, when you can devote time to learning Jewish texts, develop independently and explore your identity.
Shalhevet is an international World Bnei Akiva program, where you will meet friends from Italy, Germany, Scandinavia, Canada, USA and more.

Shalhevet is an uplifting, inspiring and empowering year in Israel with Bnei Akiva.

You’ll learn new skills, enhance old ones, develop your Jewish identity and adapt to new environments – all while enjoying the group experience.

Shalhevet is all about learning and giving. It’s a year for yourself, but also a chance to contribute to society around you.

Highlights

Shalhevet is a ten-month program encompassing a variety of experiences: studying Torah, volunteering on a kibbutz, a Hebrew Ulpan, Marva, Magen David Adom, leadership program, and much more. Shalhevet is not based in just one location—round every two months, the group moves to another part of Israel.
