Shabbat Shalom! And Shalom from Karmi’el, Israel, my new home for the next three months. My name is Billie Hirsch, and I am a 22-year old recent graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston, as well as a participant of OTZMA in its 26th and best (says yours truly) year for 2011-2012.

Tel Aviv University - The Multidisciplinary Program for Emergency & Disaster Management

Program Description

This one-year Executive Masters in Public Health encompasses theoretical as well as practical aspects of Emergency & Disaster Management. Students from all around the world with differing backgrounds will get the opportunity to study this field in Israel, well known as a living laboratory for research and practice in crisis and limited mass casualties.
 
Our multidisciplinary program will expose students to a comprehensive study of Emergency & Disaster Management. During the academic year we will visit some of the main Israeli emergency agencies and drill centers. Moreover, leaders and representatives from relevant organizations will be invited to lecture at the course.
 
Our academic faculty is comprised of exceptional professors from Israeli universities and successful practitioners, who will provide our students with the extensive knowledge and tools needed for dealing with Mass-casualties and Disaster management. Many of our faculty members have been engaged in responding to emergencies and disasters in Israel and around the world.

- 20 hours of instruction per week with additional classes in conversational Hebrew
- Qualified, native Hebrew speaking instructors with years of experience

Program Description

Olami is a customizable program which can be designed to fit each participant’s needs to provide them  with their own unique Israel experience.
 
This program can include any of the following: Hebrew Ulpan, internships, professional training (in bakery, hairdressing, makeup…), volunteering opportunities, etc…
