The months I spent at Masa Israel’s Yeshivat Sha’arei Mevaseret Zion were the most unbelievable ones of my life.

Soon after our arrival last August, we entrenched ourselves in Jewish learning. But a few weeks later, the yeshiva announced that Sept. 14 would be devoted to hesed work: helping underprivileged people build sukkas.

Program Description

P'ninim Seminary offers stimulating classes with a focus on hashkafa and machshava. They delve into familiar elements in Yiddishkeit and learn them in a way that is barely touched upon in high school by combining traditional textual learning such as Chumash, Navi, Medrash and weekly parsha with thought-provoking haskafa and practical application.

P'ninim provides the intellectual seminary challenge while inspiring students to appreciate anew that which they have always learned from their parents and teachers.

Yeshivat Hakotel

http://www.masaisrael.org/sites/default/files/Yeshivat-Hakotel.jpg

Program Description

Yeshivat HaKotel aims to cultivate yirat shamayim as part of a life of Avodat Hashem by developing students' appreciation of Talmud Torah and its connection to Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael. You will become familiar with the basics of Tanakh, Torah Sheb’al Peh, Halacha, Jewish philosophy and belief, and Mussar while developing the ability for independent study in all of these fields.

The yeshiva offers a large number of shiurim in subjects other than Gemara, and helps students build a schedule most appropriate to them. Although the average boy will generally spend around 80 percent of his time on Talmud, there are many who devote up to half their time to other subjects.

Yeshivat Sha'arei Mevaseret Zion

http://www.masaisrael.org/sites/default/files/Yeshivat-Sha%27arei-Mevaseret-Zion.jpg

Program Description

YSMZ is a traditional Yeshiva for high school graduates, emphasizing Talmud and an innovative variety of other Judaic studies. Our close proximity to Yerushalayim affords us all of the advantages of the holy city while living on a campus in the beautiful suburb of Mevaseret Zion. Our program is tailored to the specific needs of each Talmid so that each Talmid comes to us with unique interests, skills and talents, and gleans from Mevaseret personal growth, increased knowledge and the ability to learn independently – all at his own level and pace. Shiurim are offered in Hebrew and in English. All classes are small and offer great personal attention.

Our Rebbeim make a point of knowing each student personally and are not merely teachers for a year; rather, they become chaverim for life. Our Rebbeim are themselves inspiring role models and give of their time to the students both inside and outside the Beit Midrash, and beyond the year in Israel. Tiyulim and Shabbatonim emphasize our religious, historical and cultural connection to ancient and modern Israel. The Meretz Kollel – Rabbinical Teachers Institute of Mevaseret Zion shares our Beit Midrash. This institute is comprised of Israeli young men who have chosen to devote four years to intensive Torah study after completing their Hesder service (five years combining Torah study with IDF military service). Chavrutot (daily private sessions of learning and discussion) with members of the Meretz Kollel give our students exposure to Israeli society.

Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavneh

http://www.masaisrael.org/sites/default/files/Yeshivat-Kerem-B%27Yavneh.jpg

Program Description

Kerem B’Yavneh is an elite center for high-level Torah learning with a rich tradition of devoted, intensive learning in a vibrant Beit Midrash. It is an Israeli-style Yeshivat Hesder with a Zionistic outlook that strives to develop the student’s ability to learn Gemara and Rishonim independently on an in-depth, sophisticated level.

The Beit Midrash is the center of the wider yeshiva community, uniting the bachurim, the kollel families, and the families of the ramim and staff. While the spirit of learning spills over into all the corners of the green campus, with casual discussion of the Gemara and Jewish thought and weekly informal learning; Shabbat meals; Friday night tishes; and melave malkasin the homes of rebbeim and sganei mashgichim, the Beit Midrash remains the unquestionable nucleus of yeshiva life.
