November 13th 2007 - Kibbutz Ga'aton and Ma'alot Tarshicha
The Kibbutz Dance Group was established in 1970 as a small group of enthusiastic young artists, and over time became one of the leading dance groups in Israel, through the guidance of its founder, Yehudit Arnon, who won the Israel award in 1988. The works of the group's current art director, Rami Be'er, lend it a unique intriguing character. It is an outstanding group, well known in Israel and in the world, and regularly invited to perform in international festivals and shows around the world.
After visiting the group's house we will go on a tour and listen to a concert atthe Music Center of Ma'alot Tarshicha, the only city in Israel in which Jews and Arabs live together. The activities at the center are aimed to provide the residents of the region an opportunity to develop their artistic talents.
Mashkuchit staff will lead a workshop about "My Israeli Identity", using unique methods and creating a fascinating interaction between participants from various programs and countries.
At the end of the day the participants will receive a gift and an information booklet.
