Tochnit Shalem is the Orthodox track of Young Judaea’s Year Course in Israel.
The nine-month program of formal and informal education provides participants with an opportunity to spend a dynamic year living, volunteering and studying in Israel. The program is comprised of three trimesters: Community Volunteering, Jerusalem Studies and Israeli Experience.
Shalem is designed for Orthodox students who really want to be a part of Israel. Through volunteering, learning, touring, and active participation in Israeli society, the Shalem participant gains a “complete” year in Israel with a deep knowledge and appreciation for Torat Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael, Medinat Yisrael and Am Yisrael.
Core contents of the program:
Volunteering, Judaic studies, spiritual growth, immersion into Israeli society, travel.
What does it include?
Round-trip international airfare, up to a year’s worth of college credits, room and board, field trips, volunteer opportunities, medical insurance, pre-departure orientation program
Extras:
Up to 27 college credits, international participants, leadership skills, brand new state-of-the-art academic and dormitory facility in Jerusalem. New Program Extension – Olami! Olami brings you face to face with the people, politics, history and culture of France, England, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, Morocco and Ethiopia. At the end of each trip, Olami participants will return to Israel – with a new perspective on each country, on Zionism and its connection to the Jewish state. Cost of Olami is an additional $9,500.
