  Year Course - Design Program  

Project Runway meets Year Course in the Design track. Learn to work with color and texture, sketch and design clothing, and transform your design ideas into reality. You’ll have the opportunity to work side-by-side with Israel’s hottest new designers, and develop your own clothing line to be presented in a public fashion show.



Program Description:
Participants will fully integrated in the Year Course, the 9-month program of formal and informal education for recent high school graduates who spend a dynamic year living, volunteering and studying in Israel.

Placements can include: Jerusalem, community volunteering experiences near Tel Aviv, variety of arts-related work, army, navy, youth aliya village, safari, kibbutz and more. Participants can earn up to a year's worth of college credit through the American Jewish University in Los Angeles, CA, while building leadership skills and developing and strengthening their relationship with the country’s land and people. 

Core contents of the program:
Participants will learn about the Israeli fashion world, have opportunities to bring their own design creations to life. Immersion into Israeli society, Hebrew Ulpan, volunteer opportunities, academic studies.

What is included?
Internships with up-and-coming Israeli designers, room and board, academic component fully accredited through the American Jewish University in Los Angeles, CA (earn up to a year's worth of college credit), round-trip international airfare, tiyulim, volunteer opportunities, travel, medical insurance, pre-departure orientation program.

Extras:
Participants will meet Israel’s top dramatic, visual and musical artists; explore the history of drama and art in Jewish culture, create own clothing line.
