Shevet participants will spend a year of exploring Jewish ritual, tradition, and halacha (law). This program is designed for students who want to be in a Shomer Shabbat and Kosher environment, learn about halacha, try new things, and be encouraged to ultimately take on more mitzvoth (commandments). Participants will be fully integrated in Year Course, a 9-month program of formal and informal education for recent high school graduates who spend a dynamic year living, volunteering and studying in Israel. Placements can include: Jerusalem, community volunteering experiences near Tel Aviv, army, navy, youth aliya village, safari, kibbutz and more. Participants can earn up to a year's worth of college credit through the American Jewish University in Los Angeles, CA, while building leadership skills and developing and strengthening their relationship with the country’s land and people. Immersion into Israeli society, religious exploration, Hebrew Ulpan, volunteer opportunities, academic studies.
What is included?
Room and board, academic component accredited through the American Jewish University in Los Angeles, CA (earn up to a year's worth of college credit), religious enrichment opportunities, round-trip international airfare, tiyulim, volunteer opportunities, travel, medical insurance, predeparture orientation program.

Participants will have special Shabbat experiences, enrichment classes and field trips, Mitzvah of the week exploration, and much more.
