Drawing inspiration from the surroundings of the world's most special city, Jerusalem, participants on the WUJS Jerusalem Arts program are able to combine studies in Judaism, Zionism and Hebrew language with their own personal art medium such as visual art, music, photography, writing and performing.
Fully integrated into the WUJS Jerusalem Learning program, participants will take classes within a pluralistic, open-minded environment. Our holistic educational approach incorporates time in the classroom, weekly field trips, overnight hikes, meetings with Israeli peers and artists, volunteer options and a variety of fun and enriching activities. Participants live and study in a warm yet dynamic environment and are supported by professional and experienced staff.
Core contents of the program:
Access to Israel's art scene; meeting and working with local artists, guided tours of Israel's artistic centers and more. Up to eight levels of Hebrew Ulpan; courses on Zionism, Jewish Texts, Jewish Thought and Culture, Contemporary Israeli Society, and more. Opportunity for intense Jewish experience and experimentation within the holy city of Jerusalem for those who wish to take that personal journey.
What does it include? All courses include field trips and educational activities. Participants will live in apartments close to the center of Jerusalem. Apartments include all equipment needed to live comfortably. Overnight hikes in the north and south of Israel.
Extras: Show/perform your work in galleries in Jerusalem as well as local theatres. Aliyah consultation and guidance for those who see their long-term future in Israel. Hiking and Free time consultant as well as camping equipment at no extra cost.
