The Mechina is a year-long program originally designed for Israelis wanting to take a year "on" before their army service in the Israeli Defense Forces. Now, the Israeli Mechina is also open to Jewish young adults from all over the world seeking to experience Israel and its people in the most personal and meaningful way. This unique setting offers participants in-depth courses in Hebrew, leadership development, Israeli society, the IDF and much more. The Mechina includes opportunities not only to learn all about Israeli history, culture and society but also a chance to explore the country's landscape through tours and experiential education. Most importantly, this program offers participants a chance to live with Israelis as they share the meaningful experience with international participants while preparing for their future paths together.
Core Content of the program:
Mifgash with Israeli peers, Israel studies, leadership development, volunteer and community service, the IDF, modern Israeli culture and more.
What does it include:
Full board accommodations, transportation, program activities, Ulpan, excursions, Mifgashim (encounters) with Israelis, security measures, medical insurance, volunteering opportunities, hikes throughout Israel.
