Tel Aviv University - The School for Overseas Students

Tel Aviv University’ s undergraduate study abroad program allows students to learn Hebrew and absorb the fascinating land and culture of the people of Israel while taking extraordinary courses in English for full academic credit. The program offers a rich variety of exciting courses in Jewish studies, Israeli studies, Middle Eastern studies and some general courses. Each course awards 3 academic credits. Undergraduates can choose to come for a One- Year Program or a One- Semester Program. Each semester program is preceded by a mandatory Intensive Hebrew Ulpan, offering students at different levels of language profficiency the ability to substantially develop their Hebrew skills. The Ulpan awards students 6 academic credits. Students who are fluent in Hebrew can participate in the regular university courses which are taught in Hebrew. In addition to the undergraduate program we also offer an M.A. program in Middle Eastern History. The program aims to give students a detailed intelligent and objective understanding of the political and social history of the Middle East. Students are required to learn both Hebrew and Arabic, participate in nine seminars and submit a thesis. The program is two years long. An M. A. program in Jewish Studies offers a unique combination of traditional and modern Jewish curricula. It provides insight into Jewish history as well as modern Israeli culture, literature and society. It is a two- year program.
