  Pardes Year Program

At Pardes, a dynamic center of Jewish learning, post-university
students with diverse beliefs and practices engage in rigorous Torah study in a non-judgmental environment of open inquiry, mutual respect and spiritual searching, that allows them to develop their own deep and personal connection to our Jewish heritage.

Pardes is renowned for building lifelong friendships and a sustained community. Communal meals, social activities and student-initiated programs foster relationships outside of the classroom. Students join together for Shabbat in a variety of settings, including community-wide celebrations, meals at the homes of faculty members and informally with each other. In addition to teaching, our internationally recognized male and female educators serve as mentors, advisors and role models for our students. Close personal relationships with faculty members are a hallmark of the Pardes experience.

Core contents of the program:
The Pardes Year Program empowers students to connect with their Jewish identity by developing the skills to understand the classical Jewish sources themselves. In the Beit Midrash hall of study, Pardes students discover the timeless quality of an authentic Jewish experience of intensive, long-term study. The academic program includes seven levels of study; topics include Torah, Bible, Mishna, Talmud, Jewish Philosophy, Jewish Law, Midrash, Prayer, Ethics, Jewish History, and Hassidut.

Extras:
In addition to the academic program of text study, Pardes provides overnight trips with hiking and Shabbat, communal holiday celebrations; outside speakers, seminars on selected topics and a weekly community lunch with student and faculty presentations.
