  IST Israel Tour and Travel Expert  

We invite you to an all-embracing, in-depth, multi-faceted and comprehensive 10-month program to become an Israel Tour and Travel Expert. The Israel School of Tourism has a record of 46 years in training the elite tour guides in Israel. The program is set to achieve the following goals:

− To train Israel tour and travel experts for a variety of possible
career choices.
− To educate participants in the realms of Israel's geography, history, archaeology, religions, flora and fauna, art and architecture, modern state topics such as society, economy, government and more.
− To enhance professional skills in working with a variety of groups and audiences.



Core contents of the program:
The program is a high-level study experience combining both indoor and outdoor learning methods. It is a training program geared towards Israel Studies of many different spheres of knowledge and disciplines to get an in-depth understanding of Israel and the necessary skills to convey it to others.

Here are some of the study topics covered by the program: Israel's geography and climate; geopolitical aspects of Israel and the Middle east; religions, cultures and ethnic minorities in Israel; history of the land and peoples in Israel throughout the millennia; archaeology in Israel and the near east; art and architecture in Israel; the modern state of Israel, its endeavors, achievements and challenges; methodology of building and carrying out a tour; safety and security on tours; typology of incoming and domestic tourism in Israel; and much more!

What does it include?
Programming lead by the best scholars in Israel who teach at IST, dozens of study tours, Hebrew studies, social and cultural events, encounters with Israeli peers and colleagues, entry fees to all visited sites, some of the meals during tours.

Living accommodation are provided throughout the program on all IST's locations – Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Beer Sheva and Eilat (according to programming and tour schedule).

Extras:
Academic accreditation of the program (extraacademic duties and additional payment involved). Possibility for academic credits with your college/university through Haifa University.

Graduates will receive a diploma of IST, allowing them possibly to become an Israeli Tour Guide upon becoming an Israeli citizen and meeting the necessary requirements of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism.
