Israel and Masa Hasbara Training Seminar

Post High School Seminar

April 3-5th 2008, Migdalei Kedem Hotel, Jerusalem

Towards the end of the programs in Israel, participants are about to go back to their communities around the world, where they will share their special experience with friends on the one hand, and will be expected to represent Israel in front of political opponents on the other hand. In this seminar, we wish to provide participants with the tools for promoting MASA programs, as well as tools for representing Israel in the world. This will be done through unforgettable experiences, such as a visit to the Government Campus, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or the Security Fence; through meeting with an Israeli government minister; and through presentation workshops, including a closed circuit television workshop; online Hasbara by internet; cultural, rhetoric communication; academic lectures, etc. The seminar's structure is inspired by the Israeli Hasbara training television show, "The Ambassador", which was broadcasted by Keshet on Channel Two. Graduates of the show will accompany its participants and take part in a unique panel. In addition, representatives of the Hasbara Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will participate in the seminar. At the end of the seminar, the participants will be granted a diploma.

The seminar is opened to post high-school programs' participants, who intend to go on to academic studies when going back to their country of origin. Representatives of the course's graduates will be offered the opportunity to join an alignment of MASA and Israel promotion in campuses overseas.
The course is completely subsidized by MASA, Participation requires going through a screening process.
