Israeli democracy is one of the most complicated and active in the world, and serves as a mirror for the issues Israeli society is faced with. The political map in Israel is dynamic and changes frequently, and large numbers of civilians are involved in designing the face of politics and society. During the Shabbaton, we will examine the Israeli political system through its institutions, management and challenges; meet with leading academics, political activists, media commentators; and conclude with an examination of Israeli democracy in its surroundings in the Middle East.
Goals: - Intense, fascinating study of Israeli politics: structure, parties, challenges. - Examination of tendencies in Israeli society through political and protest movements in Israel. - Encounter with leading political activists, including an open discussion. - Providing tools for analyzing political trends in Israel. |
