"The State of Israel and the World Jewish Community – Historical Relationship"

The State of Israel, being a Jewish State, is a national home for all Jews. Israel and world Jewish society depend on each other and sustain complicated and constantly changing relations. During the Shabbaton, we will examine the natural, complicated relationship between the two, the historical processes, the situation today and tendencies for the future, as well as take part in a unique encounter between participants from various programs and communities in the world.
Goals: - Intense, fascinating study of the relationship between Israel and world Jewry. - Examination of changes and tendencies in Israel-World Jewry Relations from 1948-2007. - Interaction with veteran and new immigrants who are working to strengthen the connection between Israel and Jewish communities in the world. - Strengthening the participants' feeling of connection to Israel and promotion of its interests. - Providing tools for analysis of tendencies in Israel-World Jewry Relations.
